The board agreed Tuesday to call a special meeting Thursday, April 10, to discuss and possibly act on an organization letter to Secretary Zoie Saunders concerning the AOE Compliance Requirement for Vermont Schools. The letter urges the Vermont Agency of Education to rescind its April 10 certification requirement, which threatens DEI efforts in our public schools and misrepresents federal civil rights law.
Parents, students, teachers and local activists gathered in front of Academy School in West Brattleboro Tuesday morning to make their feelings known to AOE officials scheduled to visit the school on an unrelated matter.
