Key organizations supporting refugee resettlement in Southern Vermont will host a public information session on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 4:30 PM ET at All Souls Church in Brattleboro. The event will provide updates on current resettlement efforts and address community questions

In response to recent policy developments and growing community interest, representatives from Ethiopian Community Development Council Inc.  of Vermont (ECDC), U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC), Grace Initiative, Community Asylum Seekers Project (CASP), Association of Africans Living in Vermont (AALV), the Vermont State Refugee Office, and local volunteers will share information on:

  • Current Policy Landscape: Updates on immigration policies, operational refugee programs, and clarification of various immigration statuses
  • Local Support Services: Ongoing assistance for established refugees, available community resources, and funding updates
  • Community Integration: Success stories and strategies for maintaining a welcoming environment while addressing challenges
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Current initiatives and ways community members can contribute
  • Legal Resources: Available legal aid services for refugees and immigrants
